Thanks to the good guys at TBT, we made the spotlight on this year’s TBT’s 2011 Ultimate Local Artists. Here’s an excerpt of the writeup in case you can’t read it:
“In 2009, tbt* voters crowned a Latin rock trio called Triptico as Tampa Bay’s Ultimate Local Band.
Today singer-bassist Gabriel Valdivia fronts a jam-jazz-funk outfit called Serotonic. Influenced by bands like Galactic and Soulive, the group (which also includes Andrew Kilmartin on drums and Bryan Lewis on keys, plus various guests and friends) focuses “on the New Orleans jazz/funk style of music that relies heavily on improvisation,” Valdivia said.”
